Acrylic Holders

- Specially designed Acrylic Holder for Stone Tablet
After several trial prototype holders, Tracy Potts, in the middle of a night in early summer, had a vision of an acrylic holder that was structurally sound enough to hold each of the Stone Tablets upright, and at the same time, neither lean nor fall to one side or the other.
The design was given to a specialty plastics fabrication company in San Antonio, Texas. They improved and strengthened the design for the acrylic holders we use to hold each Stone Tablet in place. Each Tablet can be held by the sides of the acrylic holder and can be fully rotated front to back.
The acrylic holder sleeves are 17” (42 cm) high and measure 1 1/2″ (3.5 cm) x 2 3/8” (5.2 cm) x 1 1/2″ (3.5 cm). The round base, upon which the holder sleeve is cemented in place with an epoxy resin glue, measures 16” (39 cm) in diameter and is 3/4″ (1.7 cm) thick. The triangular support pieces, which are cemented to the round base and to the front and reverse sides of the holder sleeve, measure 6 3/4” (16.9 cm) x 2 1/4″ (5.4 cm) x 7” (17.5 cm). Each acrylic holder weighs about four pounds (1.8 kg).
Because of the design of the holders, the Tablets are secure in their positions, and both sides can be viewed with ease. In field testing, the acrylic holders have been packed, moved, and transported by car and by air over thousands of miles and have held the Two Stone Tablets securely on the special display table-top disks wherever they have been exhibited.
